Fire Safety Tips:

1. Smoke detectors save lives —install & maintain them

2. Smoking carelessness is a leading cause of tire do not empty ashtrays into the trash

3. Don’t let children play with matches & lighters

4. Be careful with candles — don’t leave them unattended — never sleep with candles burning

5. Remove electrical cords from under rugs and behind radiators— never nail or staple the cord to walls or molding

6. Don’t overload outlets and extension cords

7. Never put a portable heater near drapes, furniture, bedding or other flammable materials

8. Keep flammable liquids away from heat sources

9. Make & practice home escape plans

10. Always store paint and other flammable liquids in their original labeled containers

Cause of Fires: Do not smoke in bed. Fire Departments respond to fires every 19 seconds —nearly z million fires a year 3500 Civilian deaths per year Where a smoke detector was present & operating, So% of fires had NO fire-related deaths
